Who runs Writopin?
Writopin is developed and managed by WRITOVA LTD. Its registered office is 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. For a question about cookies or browser storage, contact WRITOVA LTD.
Cookies needed to sign in and protect the service
The writopin-session cookie keeps your account session working. The XSRF-TOKEN cookie helps protect forms and requests from forgery. These cookies are needed for the account features you ask to use. The session is currently set to expire after two hours without activity. A deployment setting may change this period.
Preferences and work saved in your browser
Writopin saves settings such as your appearance and last-used sign-in option in your browser (local storage). The editor may use temporary browser storage (session storage) for forms and drafts, and a browser database (IndexedDB) for local designs or files. These items stay in your browser until you clear them; session storage is normally cleared when you close the tab. You can change your appearance setting or clear Writopin site data in your browser.
Optional analytics
If Google Analytics 4 or Google Tag Manager is enabled for this site, we load it only after you allow analytics. Google Analytics may set cookies named _ga and _ga_* on this site. Google’s default expiry is two years; its settings can change this, and browser limits may shorten it. Writopin’s built-in page tracking sends public-page paths, titles and campaign details only. If Tag Manager is enabled, it can also load tags that WRITOVA LTD has added to its container. Administrators are instructed to add analytics tags only and avoid signed-in pages. The cookies and storage used by Tag Manager depend on the live container, so contact us for the current list.
Your analytics choice
Your choice to allow or reject analytics is saved in local storage as writopin:analytics-consent until you change it or clear Writopin site data. Both choices are available in the notice. If analytics is enabled, use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice. If you reject or withdraw consent, Writopin stops its built-in page tracking, tells Google Analytics to stop analytics storage and removes visible Google Analytics cookies where the browser allows it. Data already sent to Google cannot be taken back. Tags already added to Tag Manager may have their own behavior, so the container must be kept to approved analytics tags.
Affiliate referral cookie
If you arrive through an affiliate’s link and you have allowed cookies in the notice, Writopin saves a first-party cookie named wpn_ref for up to 30 days. It holds the affiliate’s short referral code and the time you arrived, and is used only to link a new account you create to that affiliate. If you do not allow cookies, no cookie is saved: the code is kept in memory for your visit and used only if you sign up during it. If you reject or withdraw your choice, Writopin removes the cookie. The link itself is counted without storing who you are.
Fonts and other third-party requests
Some design fonts are provided by Google Fonts. When one of these fonts is loaded, your browser contacts Google and shares technical connection details such as your IP address. This request is separate from analytics and may happen while you use Writopin.
How to object or clear storage
You can reject analytics in the notice or change your choice later with Cookie settings. You can also delete Writopin cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. Clearing site data signs you out, removes saved preferences and local work, and resets your analytics choice. We will update this page before using a new type of storage or a new purpose.
